How to Stop your Body From Craving for Food

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where all you can think of is a certain food? Normally you would only think of some sort of junk food or sweets. This constant thought of food is a food craving.

This sort of craving does not mean that you are hungry; it is just your body’s way of telling you that it needs sugar. You need not pay heed to these cravings for they are baseless; however you must try and reduce these cravings for they have an impact on your mental processing.

Eating protein rich foods or starting your day with a protein boost is a way of controlling your cravings. Raw eggs in milk or a glass of milk for breakfast is a good start to your day.

You also need to reduce the amount of carbs you intake daily. This includes all fast foods like chips, sweets, rice and cakes and muffins. You need not forget potatoes completely; just look at healthier options to eat them in. Baked potatoes are a perfect choice and they do not add unhealthy fats and carbs to your body. It also prevents your body craving for potatoes. In this way it is a win – win situation. You give your body the food that it craves without harming your digestive system. Instead of eating candy or sweets you must eat fruits or nuts and dry fruits. These foods give your body the sugar it craves; however this is in the natural form and thus it is not harmful to the body.

Avoid refined oil to prepare your food and use olive oil instead. Eat plenty of avocadoes as they prevent food cravings and also prevent fatty deposits on your abdomen. When you have a strong craving for a certain food you must drink a glass of water. Avoid any other beverages; fruit juices are alright however any other beverages are an absolute no – no. water satiates your body and kills any sort of food craving.
