How to Supress your Appetite Naturally
The first though that will run through your head is if it is safe to curb your appetite. Fear not, the only thing that will be suppressed in this way is your tendency to eat unwanted fats and avoid certain unhealthy food habits. We are all prone to eating TV dinners, snacking on junk food, binging when we are tired or stressed out. It is these habits and circumstances that have adverse effects on our health. Thus it is important for us to avoid these habits.
To avoid over eating or eating junk food; eat a fiber rich diet. These foods fill up your stomach and thus you are not able to binge on food. Eating a snack that is highin fiber an hour before lunch or dinner is a good idea. It is the best and most effective way to lose weight as well.
Drink water before and after your meals. Whenever you begin to feel hungry, drink a glass of water. It helps to fill your stomach and curbs hunger pangs. Else grab a cucumber and chomp on it at the onset of a hunger pang.
Drink a glass of tea or coffee. They are known to effectively suppress hunger. Always drink a cup about 30 minutes before your meal to avoid over eating at the meal.
Start your meal with a fresh garden salad. This is a good source of fiber. Also the water content in the salad helps to reduce the amount of food that you consume at the main meal.
The key to reducing the amount that you eat lies in two things. First serve yourself a smaller portion than you normally would. If there is lesser food on your plate chances are that you will be satisfied with the amount by the end of the meal. The second thing you can do is to eat your food extremely slowly. The longer you take to eat the food that you have served the lesser you will eat.
