Tooth brushing and flossing must be done at least two times everyday and on top of that, visiting dentist regularly is a must. These are the basic things to take proper care of teeth. Apart from that, there are several other important aspects.

Eating Habits
Eating healthy food in proper proportion is not only beneficial for your whole body, but also for your teeth. Your meal should consist of fruits and vegetables; fish, chicken and meat; milk and cheese; and bread and grain products. It is better to reduce the number of snacks in your meal.

Immediate Visit to Dentist
People often ignore their regular dental checkup. If you are having any of the following problems, you should not delay and visit dentist immediately.

-If your gum bleeds during brushing
-Flow between gums and teeth
-Swollen gums
-Slackness of teeth

Do Not Smoke
Smoking is very bad for teeth. Not only smoking, but any form of tobacco is harmful. It increases gum disorder and the chances of throat and mouth cancer. It also leaves ugly strains on teeth.

Excessive Coffee and Tea
If you have habit of drinking coffee or tea frequently, you might face the chances of tooth decay. This happens because of the added sugar content in both the beverages. Also, during the hot summer days, when saliva production is less in our mouth, try to avoid foods that include sugars as it stay attached in the teeth.

Avoid Longtime Vitamin C Contact
Lemon juice contains Vitamin C and many of us use it for whitening teeth. It can affect the teeth as Vitamin C damages calcium of our teeth. There are Vitamin C chewing gums available everywhere. Avoid chewing them as they are acidic.

Maintaining the above factors if good for your tooth care but do take out time to visit dentist every six months. There is no alternative to that.
