Those suffering from chronic sinusitis normally wake up every morning with a runny nose and often sneeze continuously. It can be brought about by severe climatic changes, cold weathers and allergic reaction to dust and pollen.
If you wake up in the morning felling unusually congested then you must draw yourself a hot bath. The hot water on your body will make the mucus in your nose fine and runny and the mucus will automatically be eliminated. If a hot bath is not an option, then you must boil a few cups of hot water and place your face over the vessel so that your face is over the steam that is being emitted. In this way the steam helps to reduce the mucus build up in your nose and you can blow it out immediately. Adding eucalyptus oil to the water and steaming your face helps to clear congestion that is deep within your nasal passage.
If you are suffering from constant then there are chances that you are sneezing and blowing your nose constantly. This leads to the skin, in and around your nose, being thin and broken. This can be extremely painful. To take care of this you can use petroleum jelly on the affected area. An anti septic cream if prescribed by your doctor helps to reduce the risk of an infection.
Ready made nasal sprays help to reduce the decongestion in your nasal passage and chest. Most of them are available over the counter at the drug store and are quite effective. Use the spray before you sleep at night.
If you sleep in a room that is air conditioned; then never go to sleep immediately after a bath. The moisture on your skin and hair can cause more irritation during the night and in the morning. Also avoid getting direct blasts of air on your head and face.
