How to Treat Hemorrhoids in Children

Hemorrhoids mostly occur among adults but there are instances when hemorrhoids in children have been noticed. When blood pressure in the veins that covers the anal passage of children increases, it causes hemorrhoids. The situation can come out both internally and externally. When hemorrhoids happen, it becomes very difficult to do bowel movement. The condition is even more painful when constipation is added with hemorrhoids. Thus, the common symptoms that a child faces when he or she is suffering from hemorrhoids are extreme pain in toilet, blood in stools and irritating lump of skin sticking out of the anus.

Reason
Children mainly suffer from hemorrhoids because of constipation. This is a common ailment amongst children. If constipation occurs frequently, then it can lead to the formation of hemorrhoids. Thus, it is necessary for the parents that they take proper care to avoid constipation among children. Proper diet must be maintained so that the children stay away from dehydration. Fiber-content food must be included in the diet and also proper exercising is a must.

Treatment
When adults suffer from hemorrhoids, there are quite a few options for treatment. Surgery is one such option. But when it comes to treat children, surgery is not a right option. Surgery has both physical as well as emotional impacts on children. Thus, it is important to lookout for other alternatives. Providing children with proper diet is very crucial. Daily consumption of food must include considerable amount of fiber, which can be provided in the form of lentils and beans. Fresh vegetables and fruits are must. Drinking lots of water and increasing fluid consumption is very necessary. When the amount of fluid is higher in the body, the stool gets softer and passes easily without causing pain.

If your child is suffering from hemorrhoids, make sure that you keep the area clean every time. Use wet toilet paper or soft clothes to clean the area. You can try to provide bath to your child for number of time everyday as it help to lower the irritating pain of hemorrhoids. If the problem continues in spite of regular care, consult doctor immediately.
