Milk Thistle

Milk thistle clears and strengthens gall bladder and the liver. By accelerating bile production, milk thistle aids in breakdown of fats and eliminates byproducts of testosterone and hence prevents hormonal acne.

Nursing mothers and pregnant women can take milk thistle but it should be avoided by women consuming birth-control pills.

Chasteberry

Also known as monk’s pepper and Vitex, chasteberry has been in use as a remedy for inflammation since ancient times. It is also highly effective against hormonal imbalances in women.

Active ingredients in chasteberry act against overproduction of hormones associated with hormonal acne. Although the side effects of chasteberry are unknown, it should not be consumed by pregnant women.

Tea Tree Oil

It is an effective natural astringent. Mix tea tree oil and water in the ratio of 1:19 and apply the solution to the oily parts on your skin with a clean cotton ball.

It also soothes inflammation caused by hormonal acne.

Garlic

The active ingredient sulfur acts against hormonal acne. Peel off garlic clove and apply it on the oily and acne-prone areas of your skin.

Keep it for at least 5 minutes and rinse off. You can also choose to eat garlic clove on daily basis.

Almond Oil

It contains natural antioxidants that act against hormonal acne. Almond oil also restores moisture to the skin and help skin glow naturally.

Fenugreek

It contains active antioxidants that soothe inflammation caused by hormonal acne. Apply the pulp of fenugreek leaves on the acne-prone areas. Leave it for half an hour and rinse it off.

Lemon Juice

It is a natural antioxidant that works effectively against hormonal acne. Squeeze fresh juice out of a lemon and apply it on the skin. Leave it for some time and rinse it off.

Neem Leaves

This herb acts effectively against a good number of diseases including hormonal acne. Neem leaves fight against bacteria and bacterial infections.

Make a paste out of neem leaves and apply it on the face as a mask. Leave it for half an hour and rinse it off.

Cinnamon Powder

Its anti-oxidizing properties act effectively against hormonal acne. Mix some honey to some cinnamon powder and apply it on the acne-prone area. Leave it for half an hour and rinse with cold water.

Sandalwood Powder

It not only cures hormonal acne but also restores natural glow to the skin. Mix rose water to sandalwood powder and apply the paste on the acne-prone area. The paste would cleanse the skin and leave no scope for hormonal acne.

Basil Leaves

Crush some basil leaves and apply it on the acne-prone area. Leave it for half an hour and rinse it off.
