How to Use Acupressure to Stay Awake and Alert

May 26, 2009

Acupressure originated in China. It is a technique very similar to acupuncture that uses pressure on certain points on your body to relieve stress, fatigue, digestive problems, and anxiety and muscle soreness. I would not recommend getting any work done without consulting with your doctor first. Though there are several therapies and explanations available though books and the internet you must know what are the best available that is the best for your condition.

To stay awake and alert you can choose to help yourself. What you will need is some oil and an instrument that will help you to exert pressure on the pressure points. You can use your fingertips; however if you have long nails then you would need to use another instrument.

The procedure is relatively easy and you stand to benefit from the procedure. The first point that you need to work on is at the base of your skull about an inch away from your spine. Exert pressure with your fingertips and massage the area for about 3 minutes. Then relax. While you are doing this you must breathe normally.

Nest you will need to massage the soles of your foot. The area is located in the centre of the soles of your foot. Exert pressure there for a few minutes, you will begin to fell a surge of energy instantly then relax.

The third point is on the centre of your head. Use all five fingers joint together to form a flower and apply pressure on your head and then begin to spread them apart along the entire skull.

The last point is three inches below your knee cap on the outside part of your leg. Apply pressure on this part for about a minute or two and you will be well on your way to a more energetic and alert day.
