Who doesn’t want to wake up feeling energized and looking their best? But in today’s day in age where we barely sleep for 4 to 5 hours waking up feeling that way seems next to impossible. Here are a few ways that can help to reach your goal.
Before you go to bed (even if it is just for a few hours), drink a glass of water. This will help you stay hydrated in the night and help with your bowel movements in the morning. Regular bowel movements are important for healthy skin and it also improves your overall health.
Also, make it a habit to wash your face before you go to bed. Chances are that if you wait to do this and you get tired, you may completely forget or blow it off. Start your face cleansing, toning and moisturizing before you begin to get tired. This will ensure that it gets done. Not washing your face at night leads to dirt and make up settling on your face and blocking your pores leading to acne breakouts and zits.
Sleep on your back rather than on your stomach. When you sleep on your stomach; you are exerting pressure on your face for the entire night. Sleeping on your back is also good for your back muscles and keeps back aches away during the day.
Always sleep with your head elevated 2 inches from your body. This helps the blood to flow in the right direction and avoids accumulation of fluid.
To avoid waking up with a puffy face and feeling acidity and bloated, watch what you eat. Eating a diet high in carbohydrates will make you feel uneasy and you will wake up with a puffy face. In order to avoid this; a high protein, low sugar dinner is recommended. Eat fish like salmon and tuna with a serving of green leafy vegetables.
