How to Ward of Dandruff with Simple Home Remedies

Many people have dandruff problems caused due to weak hair and an uncared for scalp. Dandruff could occur due to various reasons and once it starts it is difficult to get rid of it completely.

Even with regular use of shampoos and conditioners which have been developed to specifically take care of dandruff it is difficult to keep dandruff away permanently. Prolonged use of these products also tends to affect the hair making it weak and prone to damage. The roots of the hair also become weak leading to loss of hair and baldness.

Compared to shampoos and conditioners there are quite a few home remedies which can be used to treat dandruff. These remedies are made from all natural ingredients and are safer to use even if they are used regularly. Aspirin which is commonly used to treat headaches and body aches can be used for the treatment of dandruff. Take two aspirin pills and grind them into a fine powder.

Mix the powder into your regular shampoo and apply the mixture on your head. Leave the shampoo in for not more than two minutes and then wash it off thoroughly. Dandruff can also be aggravated due to excess scratching and itching of the scalp. Just like all the skin of our body tends to get replaced with new skin from time to time the skin on our head also does the same thing.

When we begin to notice dandruff, it is this dead skin that we notice as it becomes visible to the eye as the head starts shedding the skin at an accelerated rate.

When your head starts shedding the skin automatically becomes dry. The accelerated rate of shedding makes you scratch your head even more.

Scratching your head and scalp dislodges the dry skin and further worsens dandruff. You can use lemon juice to help relieve the scratching sensation caused due to dry skin and excessive shedding.

Apply about two table spoons of fresh lemon juice on your head and massage it thoroughly into your scalp. Rinse it off with a mixture of 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a liter of water.

Vinegar is another common home remedy that is used to deal with dandruff. Use Vinegar to massage your scalp gently several times a week as it helps to reduce the amount of dandruff significantly.
