
Infertility in women can become a big problem for women due to social pressure. Female infertility can be divided into primary and secondary infertility. For the women who had never conceived and are not able to give birth, it can be primary infertility whereas secondary infertility occur in the women who conceived earlier but are unable now to conceive and trying to be pregnant since one year.
There are many factors affecting female infertility including smoking, stress, alcohol etc. Age is also a major factor affecting the infertility in women. Many physiological reasons are also included like endometriosis, polycystic ovaries, and earlier injury to uterus, fallopian tubes or cervix. There can be many reasons for the female infertility like abnormal eggs, infections, abnormalities of fallopian tube, immunological factors and many other psychological factors.
Some women can have problem of irregular ovulation, these problems can be associated with hormonal problems. The women with the irregular ovulation problem can get pregnant by in vitro fertilization. Some women can’t sustain pregnancy due to egg abnormalities. This commonly occurs if women get older, declination of egg quality occurs in them. Blocked fallopian tubes are also a reason for infertility. This prevents fertilization of egg with sperm. This problem can be resolved surgically.
Bacterial infections can cause blocking of tubes. Women should contact doctor for any type of treatment. Vaginitis, ovarian cysts, tumors, smoking, nutritional disorders like anorexia nervosa or bulimia are also causes of infertility. Hormone dysfunction, thyroid disorders and low levels progesterone are also responsible for this. Fertilized egg if fails to develop in early stages causes infertility.
A surgical diagnostic method like laparoscopy is used for examining reproductive organs. Some other methods for getting pregnancy includes (IVF) in vitro fertilization can be helpful in this method eggs are harvested from female and make it impregnate with sperm and then it is implanted in uterus. In the (ICSI) intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection method one sperm injected into an egg that resulted into zygote which is transferred into the uterus.
