Baking Soda: Baking soda can be used to deal with itches of all kinds. To combat widespread or hard-to-reach itches, soaking one in baking soda water bath helps a lot. One has to add one cup of baking soda to a tub of warm water and soak for an hour in the tub. Localized itches can be treated with a baking soda paste. The paste can be made by mixing three parts of baking soda to one part of water and then put on to the itch.
Lemon: The aromatic substance in lemon includes anesthetic and anti-inflammatory properties that help in removing itching. A light paste can be made by mixing the limejuice with coconut oil and then applying the mixture on to the area of itchy skin.
Honey: A fine paste is to be made by mixing equal quantities of honey and cinnamon powder. Then this paste has to be applied on the affected areas. This is an effective home remedy for stopping itching.
Juniper berries and cloves: The anti-inflammatory properties present and the volatile substances contained in juniper berries when combined with cloves that contain euganol help in numbing the nerve endings. This results in no more itching. It is best to grind the cloves and berries at home at then apply the same as this would help in preserving the volatile substances.
Oatmeal: Put two cups of oatmeal in a tub of warm water and soak the body in the water for about 10-15 minutes. This is a very good home remedy for itching.
White Vinegar: One has to pour a cupful of white vinegar in a tub of water and soak the body for 10-15 minutes in the tub. This is one of the effective remedies of itching.
Basil, mint, aloe vera, cod liver oil, apple cider vinegar, salt free diet, vitamin E, neem – all are efficient in curing the problem of itching of the skin. Itching skin is not a serious disease and the home remedies are generally enough to treat the disease successfully.
