December 30, 2008

We all are aware than skin is an important organ of our body because it gives a protective covering to all other organs. Moreover, it is a direct introduction of our health and well being. As we grow from the age of childhood to adulthood our skin also grows proportionally. We possess very soft skin at our young age, but as we grow, our skin also matures accordingly.

Therefore, it is very important to take care of our skin according to the age. Skin plays a very important role in protecting our body from harmful effects of the environment. If we want to look young we will have to take extra care of our skin otherwise it will reflect a wrong message about our actual age.

It only takes small amount of daily care to keep skin look young and healthy. The basic requirement for any skin care routine is to give priority to our age. Only using anti-aging cosmetics shown through the advertisements in television and other media are not going to do wonders to the skin. In fact all these ready made cosmetics give only short term results. But following a daily skin care routine according to our age will give long term and better results.

Skin care in age of 20’s should be focused to prevent the future damage to the skin. Make wearing sunscreen a habit on all the exposed parts of the body. Moisturizing skin should also be made the essential activity for skin care. To get rid of dead skin cells, exfoliation is also very important. The skin in late twenties start losing the ability to renew skin cells so using exfoliating creams according to the skin type becomes necessary. Taking care of the skin in age of 20’s is an investment to look young in later age.

The skin in the age of 30’s is marked by uneven texture and fine lines. This is the age when skin starts loosing collagen, an important skin protein. This is the time to introduce anti aging creams with more active ingredients. Drinking sufficient amount of water and taking a balanced diet with lots of fibers should be made important part of one’s life during this age.

The skin during age of 40’s is marked by dull complexion and sagging skin. People of this age group should include lots of fruits, vegetables and vitamins in their diet. Keeping ourselves physically active is one of the key to glowing skin during this age. The most important thing which is applicable for all age groups is to keep happy and stress free.
