Leucoderma: Causes and Treatment

Leucoderma is usually called by its another name as Vitiligo. The word Leucoderma means ‘having white skin’. This is caused due to gradual loss or disturbance or destruction of pigmentation from various layers in the skin. This pigment when is less in content known as Melanin it leads to white kind of patches in the skin such as face, arms etc. These patches are very bad to look at especially for the persons who have dark as well as whitish complexion.

They are mainly caused due to gastric disorder, jaundice, worms, various kinds of parasites in alimentary canal, typhoid, mental worry. Their main cause is due to perspiratory diseases or mechanism and burning of injuries.

Red clay is one of the most curable remedy for removing white patches or spots. It contains copper which seems to bring back skin pigmentation  but always apply by mixing ginger juice in equal ratio.

Turmeric when used with mustard oil is also helpful in curing Leucoderma. In the initial stage at least for one week you should clean your bowels properly with the help of lukewarm water.

Also avoid using tamarinds, tea, coffee, polished rice, tinned or bottled food, fishes, lobsters, crabs, citrus fruits like orange, lemon etc.
