How can you meditate?

You do not need to attend special classes to help you to learn to meditate. All you need to do is find a spot in your house that you are particularly comfortable in and sit with your legs squatted and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths to calm you down from the pace of regular life and focus on a positive experience or memory. To enhance the mood you may also light a few candles in the room or a few incense sticks. Try aromatic oils like lavender or yang ylang that help to calm your senses and relax you.

How does meditation help?

Meditation is known to help with a number of aliments yet many dismiss the thought as frugal and incorrect. Meditation first started in Vedic India and has been passed down by the centuries. It is now a widespread practice the world over.

-Meditation is known to cure stress and relieve tension. While you are meditating you are helping your body to reduce its pressure and increases the flow of oxygen while maintaining the heart beat. All these activities help to reduce your stress as they regulate other bodily functions.

-When you mediate you fill your lungs with oxygen and release all the unwanted unhealthy air from your system. This helps to keep your lungs in shape. Thus meditation is directly linked to your lung condition.

-Most modern doctors recommend meditation after an important surgery as it helps the patient to focus on the positive. This helps in quicker healing.

-Trying meditative exercises helps to cure asthma or lessens the effect of an attack as your body is aware of how to regulate breathing.

-Meditation is known to help dieters to loose weight. Focusing on your goal is one of the key aspects of meditation and hence is known to have a positive effect in keeping people’s mind of food while they are on a diet.

-Meditation done first thing in the morning helps to begin the day in a calm manner devoid of stress. This helps your mind to be at ease for the rest of the day and ensures a more peaceful calm environment.

-For women who tend to loose their temper or suffer from PMS meditation help as to calm their nerves and reduce the occurrence of temper tantrums.
