Myopathy is a muscular disease which affects the functions of muscular fiber. The stiffness in muscles movement, pain due to cramps in muscles and weakness are the major symptoms of myopathy. The symptoms vary from person to person. In some cases the symptoms are mild whereas in some case they may be very fatal. A treatment at an early stage may avoid the fatal consequences of myopathy. In some patients the symptoms are so mild that they ignore it but it is not a good approach. If myopathy is not cured in time, the symptoms may grow and may lead to fatal results. In some cases myopathy can lead even to death of the patient. So, an early stage treatment is really very important in case someone is suffering from this disease.

Due to weak muscles, the person suffering from this disease gets cramps and these cramps are very painful in most of the cases. Hence, treatment of cramps to get relief from the pain is necessary. You can use medication, surgery or any type of physical therapy for the treatment. The quick and easy way to get relief from the pain is medication. In case the patient gets cramp, a complete rest is required for the recovery and hence too much body movement during this period should be avoided. An easy body exercise, acupressure and body messaging are the techniques used in physical therapy.

However, the treatment given in myopathy completely depends on the reason of myopathy. Drug therapy can also be used for the treatment of this disease. Over exercising should be avoided and you should not get involve in any type of hard work. Taking rest is the key factor because weakness is a major symptom of myopathy. Any type of treatment in myopathy has a slow and long process and the symptoms are relieved slowly. So, do not panic for a quick result of the treatment. A regular supply of calcium may help in the treatment of myopathy. In some cases the medicines used in myopathy leads to many side effects, so do consult the doctor in case you find any complications.
