Natural and Herbal Treatments to Help you Increase your Energy Levels

June 9, 2009

We need energy for our survival. The more we have to burn and spare the healthier and more active we are. There are several medications and drinks available to increase your energy levels but they all have their fair share of side effects. Thus taking the herbal way out is the best solution. Herbs are natural, they can be incorporated in your food preparations or eating in the raw state and the risks of side effects are close to zero.

If you wake up in the morning with a feeling that you haven’t slept a wink the previous night, then you must add lemon grass to your cup of tea. The lemon flavor helps to pick up your energy and the aroma from the ea will revive your senses, thereby giving it a kick start to the day.

Adding a piece of ginger to your morning tea helps to increase your energy levels naturally.

To increase your energy levels by strengthening your circulation you must add cayenne to your soups or salad preparation. Also, you can take it in the supplement form; it helps to increase your energy levels faster in this way.

To get an instant energy boost you must consume ginkgo biloba on a regular basis. It helps to alleviate depression and reduce stress thereby helping to increase your energy levels.

In addition to these herbs one must eat a healthy balanced diet that is free of fats and empty calories. Drink plenty of water to keep your body well hydrated. Water also helps to wake you up in the morning and increases your alertness. Add a spoon of honey and half a lime in the juice form and drink it to increase your alertness.

Turmeric in food is known to be helpful in increasing your alertness and increasing your energy levels.
