Given the extra pressure that your body undergoes during the entire term of your pregnancy; it is but natural that you will experience fatigue and get drained out of energy. Feeling tired, sluggish and low on energy along with aching muscles is normal. The hormonal changes in your first trimester, the excess weight that you carry around in your third trimester and the stress that your body goes under in labor drain you out of every ounce of energy that you have. In addition to these factors; not being able to sleep well at night due to constant bathroom visits make you restless.

In order to maintain your energy levels you must get as much rest as you can during the day and the night. If it is your first pregnancy then you are lucky for your chores are lesser; however if you have elder children in the house then it could be challenging to be able to rest during the day. Soak your feet in warm water infused with lavender oils to reduce your stress levels and massage your feet gently with almond oil. You must also use chamomile on your temples and on your back to enhance the quality of your sleep. These essential oils work wonders to reduce stress and induce sleep. A glass of warm milk with honey just before bedtime will work wonders.

Delegate as many chores as you can to other members of the household. Hire a help to take care of the household chores. If you do the latter then you will conserve energy and will not feel stressed out.

You must eat plenty of healthy meals and drink lots of water to maintain your hydration. Water will increase your energy and boost your stamina. It will also increase your metabolism and enhances your immune system. Avoid any food products that contain caffeine and refined sugar. Use honey in your tea and milk instead of sugar.

You must exercise, not matter how stressed out you are. Unless your doctor deems you unfit to exercise; you must get into a regular routine to increase your blood circulation. Walking for 30 minutes daily will keep your energy levels high. Make sure that you have a companion with you when you venture outside incase you have a medical emergency.
