Jaundice is a dangerous disease where your liver is affected. In most cases it is due to alcohol consumption. It is unable to function properly and filtering and elimination of toxins from your system is affected.

It makes your eyes, nails and urine into a dark shade of yellow. It makes you feel extremely tired and may or may not be accompanied by fever. Although there are several home remedies available one must take care to follow these remedies along with medical assistance or consultation from your doctor as the disease may be life threatening.

How to care for jaundice with home remedies

Papaya leaves are extremely useful in this case. Grind the leaves of the papaya and add a spoon of honey to the paste and have this three times a day till you see the discoloration of the urine is no more.

Lemon grass is also an effective remedy. Boil a cup of water with lemon grass leaves and then drain the leaves. Drink the warm blend and you will be relieved of the jaundice within a few days. You must continue the treatment for two weeks even after you are cured.

Mix turmeric powder with water and drink this three times a day. You will experience relief from the stomach ache causes by the jaundice.

One of the oldest remedies for jaundice requires one to juice a few tomatoes to make a glass of juice and add salt and pepper to enhance the taste. Drink the juice before you eat your breakfast and you will be healed within 3 days.

Drink plenty of barley water when you are suffering from jaundice and keep your body well hydrated. Water in general helps to eliminate the toxins from your body.

Avoid eating foods that are fatty, contain oil or are fried. Drinking alcohol at this time will cause you your life.
