Patients who are alcohol prone are placed on grape diet, that is, they are allowed to eat only grapes 3 times a day for 25 days. Regular intake of grapes reduces the addiction towards alcohol. Grapes also have a very good cleansing power in removing toxins from the liver, thereby reducing the chances of cancer.

Bitter Gourd: Addiction towards alcohol can be curbed by the intake of a mixture of bitter gourd juice with buttermilk every morning. The juice of bitter gourd leaves also serves as a good cure for alcohol induced addiction. Bitter gourd juice can also repair damaged liver. This is one of the important home remedies for alcohol addiction.

Celery: Regular intake of celery in the diet helps in curtailing the cravings for sugar after quitting drinking. The juice of celery makes the alcoholics sober. Mix ½ glass of celery juice with a glass of water and drink it twice a day. It not only cleans the toxic materials of the stomach but also reduces the cravings for alcohol.

Dates: Soak 6 dates in half a glass of water for three hours. Drinking this mixture 2-3 times a day acts fast in treating alcoholism. Dates are easily available and are very effective in curing .

Salami: It has the capacity to absorb alcohol from the body. Salami is eaten with sandwiches and butter.

Raw almonds: Raw almonds are useful in reducing the addiction towards alcohol.

Yoga and meditation: Yoga and meditation are very effective ways to reduce alcoholism. Since people tend to live a very peaceful and contented life through the practice of yoga and meditation, their cravings for alcohol subside with subsequent times.
