Melasma is tan or dark skin discoloration. Discoloration and dark spots on the skin can be embarrassing and a difficult problem. Vinegar is acetic acid that has the property to cleanse the skin and thereby improves the complexion of the skin and in making the skin more radiant and smoother. One has to dilute the vinegar with an equal amount of water and use this to cleanse and rinse the face. It has to be left for sometime and then washed off. The mixture also makes the skin much softer. Apple cider vinegar and other natural vinegars are recommended instead of white vinegars.
With the application of lemon juice on the skin, the problems of the skin are get rid off in no time. Since lemon juice is acidic, it can peel off the top layer of the skin, thereby causing the spots to fade.
In order to get onion juice, one has to finely chop up the onion, blend it and then squeeze the juice through cheesecloth. Equal amount of apple cider vinegar has to be mixed to it and this has to be applied to it with a cotton ball at least twice daily. The results can be watched over for the next several weeks. Another simple way is to dip onion slices in the apple cider vinegar and place them over the pigmentation area. These are effective remedies of melasma.

People are always advised to get rid of stress that not only causes melasma but also leads to hypertension and various other ailments like heart diseases, etc. Regular exercise helps in the combating of stress in an efficient way that in turn decreases the chances of melasma.
