Natural Supplements for Anxiety
Anxiety can weigh you down; though you may not be aware of it. It can cause harm beyond your imagination. Not only does it affect your physical health; it also impacts your mental health. When you are anxious you are unable to rest and this leads to panic and stress. Fortunately for us there are a few natural aids that we can use to reduce and eventually eliminate anxiety from our lives.
Valerian is one such herb that has had a very positive impact on reducing stress and anxiety levels. The herb can be taken 2 to 3 times a day. It is commonly used to fight insomnia and other sleep related disorders but it can be used as a remedy to stress as well.
St. Johns Wart, an herb that was used in the treatment of depression is now gaining popularity as a cure for stress and anxiety. It causes change in the serotonin levels and thereby decreases anxiety levels.
Passion flowers are also a useful remedy. It reduces restlessness and prevents fatigue. In this way it has a hand in reducing anxiety levels. If you are unable to understand the right dosage for you; then you must speak with a doctor to help you out. Do not use the supplement in high doses as it may cause a sense of loneliness or loss of self worth.
American skullcap is an herb that is normally used as a sedative. It does help you out in the quest to reduce anxiety naturally though. Like passion flower the herb works differently on different people and hence you must watch the amounts that you are using the herb in.
One must note that herbal remedies and supplements do not show results immediately but have slower effects. Thus one must be patient when using natural supplements. You must also ensure that you are using these supplements under the guidance of a certified practitioner in order to avoid any side effects and over doses.
