We live in an age where we spend more than 70 percent of our work hours at our desks staring at the computes and almost 50 percent of our leisure time doing the same. This can have a huge impact on our eyes. Often I find myself squinting when I am trying to focus on my computer screen. Creasing of the forehead, raising an eyebrow, and nose scrunching cause strain on the eye that is not required. This causes strain in the muscles on your eyes and continuity of the activity causes wrinkles and fine lines around your eyes.
Your eyes are the window to the world and you may want to invest into the safety of it. If you are the kind of person that spends hours in front of a computer screen either professionally or for personal pleasure, then you must invest in a pair of glasses that are built specially for computer users. You do not need to have a prescription to get these glasses; you simply can get them over the counter at the optician.
For general use you must also invest in a pair of good sunglasses. Wear them when you are outdoors even if it is not sunny to protect your eyes. They prevent you from squinting and hurting your eyes from the direct sunlight.
Vitamin A and C are extremely good in protecting your eyes and helping you to retain your vision longer. You can get these vitamins from oranges, strawberries and sweet potatoes.
You must always ensure that your eyes are moist. Splash water into your eyes at regular intervals if you feel that they are getting dry. At home, in the office or when you are in the car, avoid getting direct blasts of the air conditioner on your face. The cool air blasts will cause harm to your eyes by drying them out.
