Shiny, thick and dull colored skin is known as oily skin. This type of skin is often accompanied by vulgar pores, pimples or acne and other uncomfortable blemishes. It is also prone to black heads. Such unhealthy skin conditions can be improved by using effective natural remedies. Here are some natural ways of treating the oily skin:Sandalwood powder: Mix a teaspoon of sandalwood powder with a few drops of water and make a paste out of it. Then this paste needs to be applied on to the face and left for 10-15 minutes. After that one has to wash the face with cold tap water. This not only reduces fine lines and wrinkles but also fights acne and other blemishes of the skin.
Lemon juice and turmeric powder: One needs to mix a teaspoon of lemon juice with half a spoon of turmeric powder and some flour and make it a paste. Then the paste has to be applied on the face, except the eye area, and let it dry. After that it has to be rinsed off with cold tap water. The acid of lemon juice helps in clearing the dark skin spots while the turmeric powder opens up the look.
Crab apple: One has to mash the apple and make it a paste. Then the paste has to be applied over the face and neck and left for 15 minutes. Then it has to be washed with lukewarm water. This paste rejuvenates and moisturizes the dull and oily skin of the face.
Tomatoes: Applying a puree of fresh tomatoes on the face helps in removing the unwanted oil from the face, thereby making the look of the skin as bright.
Honey with white egg: One has to mix half teaspoon of honey with the white of the egg and one table spoon of lemon juice all together and add fuller’s earth to the paste. Then the paste has to be applied and kept for about twenty minutes. Then rinse off the face with water.
Papaya: Mash 3-4 teaspoon full of ripe papaya and apply it on the face. After 15 minutes, wash off the face with cold tap water. Papaya has a cleaning effect on the skin and also helps in softening and removal of dead cells from the face.
Besides these, milk, wheat germ oil, rice powder, potatoes, cucumber slices, almond meal and lemon rind, rose petals, cedar wood oil, sandalwood oil, etc. are used for treating oily skin.
