Often when a woman goes through a painful labor and delivery process, she suffers from loss of bowel movements for a few days post the delivery. In addition to the swollen abdomen and breasts, aching limbs and bloody discharge, the pain caused by lack of bowel movements is unbearable.
If this prolongs then it can have an effect on the bladder, and lead to a condition what is medically termed as Cystocele.
How to cure the condition?
If you are suffering from the condition then you must avoid lifting heavy weights and walking briskly and moving too much. This may affect your condition and healing of the vaginal area will take longer.
Keep your body well hydrated by drinking water and juices that help to maintain your hydration levels. The water helps you to have regular bowel movements.
One must try and exercise the kegel muscles. By doing so you strengthen the vaginal walls and muscles and they in turn help to support the surrounding muscles and organs. You must consult your doctor before you begin these exercises.
In extreme cases you would need to opt for surgery for long term benefits. Till surgery s not scheduled, you must wear a vaginal ring that helps to support the vagina and the organs surrounding it.
Increase your estrogen levels. They help to strengthen the vaginal muscles. Those who have already gone through menopause must increase their estrogen levels and can benefit from estrogen therapy to strengthen their vaginal muscles.
Surgery is a solution to the issue; however is not the only option and one must also be aware that it is not a permanent solution. Relapse can occur and you may need a second surgery. However, if the surgery is successful then post surgery you will feel your muscles strengthen and be able to support other muscles.
