Many people nowadays face eating disorders. These could be various types of eating disorders such as binge eating disorder, anorexia, bulimia, overeating, night eating and many more.
Binge eating is a very common problem among people and is very common among women as compared to men. Most often the cause of this illness is due to poor self image, bad lifestyle and bad eating habits. The cure to this illness therefore needs to be tackled from a psychological point of view as well as by making adjustments to lifestyle and dietary habits.
The primary route one can follow to effectively tackle this issue is to make sure that you follow a few simple rules. Firstly make it a habit to eat only when you are hungry and to eat till you are satisfied. Do not over eat and do not give into the temptation to eat at any time. It is recommended to keep a diary and make a note of your eating habits. Over time you should come up with an eating schedule and try and stick to it. Secondly make sure that when you are eating you eat in a sitting position and avoid standing. Do not eat in front of a television or while working as this causes you to over eat and also not realize what you are eating. Concentrate on what you are eating and enjoy your food.
If you tend to binge eat, try and determine the cause that brings about this bout of binge eating. Sometimes binging is due to high stress levels while at other times it could be due to peer-pressure or feeling unloved among other reasons. It is important to find emotional support to help you cope with this situation. Try to find someone whom you can talk to, about what you are through. People who have gone through, or who are going through the same situation would be ideal as this would help both of you find that emotional support.
