Natural Treatments to Cure Vertigo

June 1, 2009

Vertigo is not a disease but a condition where you feel dizzy or lightheaded as a result of change in the equilibrium. It happens when the sensory organs fail to react to change in heights and it perceives them as if they are in motion.

What causes the onset of vertigo?

Alcohol is the most common cause of the disorder. Being in high spirits causes a person to feel motion that may not be true. An over dose of oxygen or lack of it can cause the same effect as alcohol. Trauma to the heat, a shock or an attack of some form can cause an attack.

Remedies to treat vertigo

There are several treatments that one can avail of in the attempt to cure vertigo. Fortunately most of them are with the help of herbs and spices that are found in your kitchen.

Iodine is used in the treatment to help the aged who suffer from vertigo.

The best cure for the disorder is to be careful about your sleep patterns. Do not oversleep. You will notice that on those days when you over sleep you fell light headed and this increases your chances of vertigo. Never sleep for more than 5 to 6 hours at a stretch to avoid the possibility of an attack.

You need to go to bed at the same time every day. If you are in a habit of sleeping by 10 pm daily then you must stick to that timing to lay down every night. Sleeping later than that on any occasion will increase your possibility of suffering from vertigo the next day or the moment you wake up.

If you suffer from chronic vertigo then you must speak with a doctor and have him diagnose the cause of the problem. Often the root cause of the issue is deep rooted and the vertigo may actually be a symptom to an even more deadly illness.
