While its nutritional benefit speaks volumes for the dessert, it is also known to be effective in the cure and prevention of cancers. Yogurt is also known to be effective in fighting ulcers as it helps to clear toxins from your body. The cooling property of the yogurt is known to be effective in killing the ulcer causing bacteria and keeping it under control.

There are 3 types of yogurt namely full fat, low fat and skimmed the latter is for those who are trying to reduce cholesterol. Eating skimmed yogurt is beneficial as you gain all the benefits of the dessert without actually adding a pound. It is important to remember that yogurt does not add to your cholesterol levels; however it helps to increase the production of the healthy bacteria in your body.

To add more yogurts to your diet you can start off by swapping your regular desserts with a bowl of yogurt with your favorite fruit. Replace salad dressings with yogurt. Use it to marinate your meats. Yogurt makes an excellent dip to go with chips and tortillas.
