Liquor as a cure for toothaches

Liquor like whiskey and rum can be used to get rid of a toothache. You do not have to drink this however you can rinse your mouth with the liquor. The strong pungent taste of the alcohol will help to numb the area; this reduces the intensity of the pain. You can spit out the residual alcohol. Let the alcohol linger in your mouth for a few minutes so that you get maximum benefit from it.

Ice is a perfect remedy

Not many people are aware of the fact that ice has a huge impact on toothaches. You can use ice on the area surrounding the aching tooth; do not use it directly on the tooth. The ice helps to numb that pain and reduces the pain drastically. You could also use an ice pack on your face if the toothache has caused any swelling. This will help to reduce the swelling.

Herbs and spices

Herbs and spices have been used for several decades as a temporary relief for toothaches. Herbs like garlic and ginger as well as cloves are commonly found in most kitchens and these help to give relief. Placing a piece of either of these herbs in the mouth or the area near the sore tooth will help to get rid of the pain. Clove oil is commonly used to treat toothaches.
