Post Menopause Health Care Tips

Menopause is the full stop to the monthly cycle through which a woman goes in her life. It is the event which marks the end of reproductive ability of a woman. It is one of the phases of woman’s life which she wants to avoid. But it is a natural occurrence which will happen with the course of advancing age. Menopause sets in after age of 45 years.

When a woman does not experience monthly periods in a succession of 12 months and there is no other reason for it, then it can be said that she has reached the stage of menopause. As a result of menopause, body stops producing hormones like estrogen and progesterone. A woman goes through many physiological and psychological changes after menopause. It is necessary to understand the symptoms of menopause for better health care. It’s not mandatory that all of the women should experience these symptoms.

A woman can feel hot flashes around the face, neck and chest. Sleeping problems and night sweats can be felt. Bones and muscles become weak leading to problems like osteoporosis. Burning sensation occurs in urinary tract and the vagina becomes dry and painful. Sex drive decreases. Weight gain occurs mainly around the waist. Hairs become thin and lusterless.

Many symptoms have psychological basis along with the physiological changes. Spicy food should be eaten in as much less amount as possible. Intake of alcohol and caffeine should be reduced. Proper exercise regime should be made part of daily routine. Proper ventilation facility should be there at your workplace. Antidepressants can be taken on the suggestion of doctor. Vaginal lubricants can be used to reduce the dryness. Take warm milk one hour before sleep for a good sound sleep. Sleeping place should be at comfortable and sound proof place.

Include lots of daily products and calcium sources in diet for strong bones and muscles. Try to keep yourself cheerful. Spend time with people you feel happy with. Don’t feel this phase of life as a burden. Enjoy it as you enjoyed your previous lifestyle. Every event in life has advantages also, remember this always. Go for daily morning walks. Become member of such groups which help underprivileged people of the society. Make a habit to do something right and good everyday. Keep a cheerful face and your life will become more beautiful than ever.
