Problem of Deep Vein Thrombosis in Women

The problem of deep vein thrombosis is formation of blood clots in the lower parts of our body. During a long journey sometimes we have to keep on sitting in one particular position for considerably long time.

Sometimes it may be a need of our occupation that we keep sitting on a particular position for long time. This may result in formation of blood clots in veins of lower parts of our body. These blood clots may interrupt the easy flow of to the limbs and other important organs of our body. These blood clots sometimes may lead to fatal consequences and in some cases they can be very critical causing even death. Hence, it is very important to go for a early treatment of deep vein thrombosis.

Studies in past have revealed that as compared to men, women are always at higher risk to this health disorder. Pregnancy is a major factor leading to the problem of deep vein thrombosis in women. After giving birth to the infant, the risk grows more and hence a proper care is needed to avoid this problem after pregnancy. You can consult a gynecologist for a proper care program so that you can avoid such health complications.

The chances of deep vein thrombosis in women increase to a greater extent by taking contraceptives. Though contraceptive pills are easy way to avoid unwanted pregnancy but they add to the risk of deep vein thrombosis. The symptoms of thrombosis may include tenderness, aching, swelling and redness of the lower limb. In case you are experiencing difficulty in breathing, you should immediately consult a doctor for diagnosis.

One another factor which can be responsible for deep vein thrombosis is the obesity. In case of obesity, our legs have to support more weight which causes extra pressure to the vein of the lower part of our body and hence can lead to the problem of deep vein thrombosis. Hence you should keep your weight under control.

Apart from this problem, obesity has various other health complications associated with it. You can go for a weight loss program. Consumption of fresh fruits, vegetables and healthy food is very helpful in avoiding this problem. A woman should check for the symptoms of deep vein thrombosis during pregnancy, if you are taking contraceptive pills, if you travel for long hours on a regular basis or if your occupation involves long hours of sitting.
