Remedies for a Recurring Sore Throat
A sore throat is a real pain, pardon the pun. The itchiness, swelling and the pain that this condition causes creates havoc in ones life and imagine this occurring repeatedly. It is not something I wish upon anyone. If you have a recurring sore throat then you suffer from strep throat. Some of the reasons why this condition occurs are flu, dryness of the mouth, breathing through the mouth rather than the nose, hay fever and pollution to name a few. Alcohol and allergies are also contributing factors to this condition.
Home remedies to treat this condition
If you have a constant or recurring sore throat then you need to avoid drinking cold beverages and eating frozen desserts. Doing so will help to prevent aggravating your condition. If you have a dry throat then you must keep it well hydrated. Drinking plenty of water will be beneficial to you. You can also drink fresh fruit juices; specially the kinds that have Vitamin C in them.
Chewing gum will also keep your throat well hydrated; make sure you have sugar free gum though else you will invite cavities. Warm soups and beverages will soothe your throat. You can try having chicken soup for lunch or dinner. Pop a lozenge in your mouth when you begin to feel uneasy. You could also chew on garlic or ginger; add them to your cup of tea or to your food preparation.
You will also need to analyze the reason why you are suffering from this condition. If you are breathing polluted air and this is aggravating your condition then you must take the necessary precautions. Keep a humidifier in your room in order to get rid of allergens that may be the cause of your condition.
If you are still suffering with this condition then you need to watch your hygiene. Wash your hands regularly; especially before and after meals. Keep an anti bacterial hand wash with you at all times; this is for when you are on the move. If you have a common cold or cough you need to control the infection.
