Arthritic pain can cured with natural remedies which are inexpensive and have proved to be very effective in soothing arthritic pain. Some of these remedies have been tried and tested over the ages and are even used and prescribed by doctors to patients to help them cope with the pain and swelling of the joints caused due to arthritis. There are many different forms and types of arthritis but all are accompanied with swelling in the joints and pain in the swollen area. In some cases the pain is so severe that the sufferer is unable move the joint for prolonged periods of time. Swelling of the joints causes the joints to get locked up and when one tries to move about there is a lot of pain experienced.
Apart from using cold compresses or hot compresses to help relieve the pain there are a few other strategies that you could use to help you cope with arthritic pain. You should try out the suggested remedies and experience them first hand to determine which one is most suited for you.
It is also important that you inform your doctor about what you are doing as he/she would be able to advise you if you should try out the remedy.
Fish oil has been found to be effective in helping to reduce the tenderness and fatigue in joints. This remedy has been found to be effective in treating certain types of pain caused due to arthritis and many arthritis sufferers have found it to be quite helpful.
Fish oil is available in the form of a pill and can be taken as a supplement. You could also take a teaspoon full of Cod liver oil if you cannot obtain the pills. Please check with your doctor to ensure that you’re not allergic to fish oil. Sometimes medicines prescribed by your doctor could have a reaction with cod liver oil so consult with your doctor before trying this remedy.
You can also reduce the inflammation and stiffness of your joints by adding four tablespoons of Epsom salt to your bath. After a bath use a muscle ointment before going to bed. This would help to reduce early morning stiffness of the joints.
Very often people who suffer from arthritis tend to wake up achy and stiff. Studies conducted have also concluded that if you feel better when you wake up, then you will feel well for the rest of the day. Muscles ointments help provide warmth to the joints and prevents them from swelling up and becoming stiff.
