
Bed sores can happen due to long term pressure on some part of the body where bones are present. Patients on complete bed rest, handicapped or paralyzed person are at a higher risk of getting bed sores. Immobility or disability to change the body position frequently leads to the problem of bed sores because a continuous pressure is exerted on a specific part of the body.
Bed sores should be treated as soon as they occur otherwise they can be very dangerous as they disrupt the circulation of blood in the body. At an early stage the bed sores are red in color and are very painful but can be treated easily by usual dressing and other methods. However, when grown bigger the treatment can become quite difficult and painful. The common areas where bed sores can occur are the lower back, hip bones, buttocks, ankles, shoulders, keens and head.
A mixture of magnesia and iodine is helpful in healing bed sores. Mix magnesia and iodine together and allow the mixture to settle for sometime. Apply it to the bed sores several times a day. After two to three days you will find that the bed sore are reducing. You should take care of intake of vitamins and other necessary nutrients in you food. Vitamins like A, B complex, C and E are very helpful in curing bed sores. You can take folic acid tables. Consumption of zinc is also very effective in treatment of bed sores. Cortisol is also very effective in healing bed sores. You can apply honey and lecithin on the bed sores.
Washing bed sores 3 times daily helps reducing the inflammation and is helpful in quick treatment of bed sores. Spraying lysol on the body of patient can avoid bed sores and therefore can give relief from the pain due to bed sores. A mixture of honey and sugar can be poured on the wounds. It will prevent the wound from being poisonous. Aloe vera is also helpful in healing wound due to bed sores. Patient with bed sores should be helped in changing position time to time if possible. Supervision and consultancy of a doctor is also advisable.
