Remedies For Blocked Nose

The problems like cough, cold, blocked nose, hoarse throat are common during the winter. Depending upon the resistant power of our immune system, someone get these ailments very easily. Hence, it is very important to have a basic knowledge of the causes and treatment of these common ailments.

Common cold is a reason for the blocked nose. The clinical term for this is acute rhinitis. Sometime the blocked nose is also due to the allergy to pollens and hence the problem occurs during the pollen season. As a reaction towards pollen allergy causes swelling in the lining of the nose, it causes blockage of the nose. A good protection from the cold is always helpful in avoiding the blocked nose. Washing nasal passage with saline water provides a quick relief from the blocked nose.

Message outside the nose with mustard oil, while going to bed in the night is a good remedy for blocked nose. It eases the breathing and avoids the blockage of the nose. Consumption of mixture of palm jaggery and chittarathai is also very effective in avoiding the nasal blockage. Ginger extract is also very helpful in blocked nose. Take 5 ml of coconut oil, mix some ginger extract in it and heat this mixture. Rub this mixture on head before half an hour of taking bath. This will give relief from blocked nose. Message of eucalyptus oil is also very helpful in the problem of nasal blockage.

Mint tea or the herbal tea is an effective remedy for blocked nose. Mint scent can be inhaled for avoiding nasal congestion. Avoiding taking cold things if your have a problem of nasal blockage. An exposure to extreme cold weather should be avoided. Hot soups are helpful in avoiding nasal congestion. Take hot soups before taking dinner at night. Inhaling essence of eucalyptus oil eases breathing and avoids nasal blockage.
