If you suffer from cold hands and fingers then you are not alone; there are several others who suffer from this condition not just during winter but all year through. Though you may not perceive this condition as dangerous you must keep in mind that it may be a symptom of an underlying illness.

If you suffer from this condition during winter then it is normal and a few changes in your diet and lifestyle will help you to overcome this condition.

A hot cup of tea is the best way to warm you up. It is extremely important to drink plenty of water during this season and it is even better to drink it hot. You will stand to gain more if you add a few spices to the tea as these herbs help to maintain a steady body temperature. Boil a cup of water and add a piece of ginger root to the water. You may add honey and lemon to the tea in order to enhance the taste of the tea.

Adding hot spices to your food may not be a bad idea. Stews with Tabasco or chilli powder are a good way to add extra spice to your food. These spices help to warm up your body. Avoid milk products as they tend to have a cooling impact on the body. Avoid alcohol too; though most people believe it is the best way to warm your body it does have a negative impact on your health. Alcohol causes dehydration and thus has adverse effects on your health.

In order to prevent cold tips and toes you need to boost your circulation. This can be done in the morning when you take your shower. Soak your feet and hands in a tub of warm water and rub a brush on your fingers and toes. This will help to increase blood circulation in the area and prevent the freezing sensation.

Keep your body well hydrated and you will avoid frozen tips and toes.
