Remedies for Palpitations and Irregular Heart Beats

November 5, 2009

Palpitations are a condition where the heart beats irregularly. It is not a serious condition; however you must look into a remedy as it is not normal for the heart to act this way. In this condition the heart is forced to beat in a certain way. When you begin to have the attack you will feel a thumping feeling in your chest and this will cause some degree of discomfort in the chest region.

The heart beat may increase and you may have some difficulty in breathing. There are several factors that give rise to this condition. Increasing the strain in the heart, increasing workload, an increase in stress levels, nervousness, constipation, flatulence and excessive smoking gives rise to this condition.

Home remedies for heart palpitations

If you experience this condition often then grape juice will be an effective remedy. Drinking grape juice at regular intervals and eating the fruit daily will help to reduce the attacks and if you continue this remedy you will be able to get rid of the condition permanently.

Eating guavas in the raw state is also beneficial to this condition. Eating a ripe guava on an empty stomach helps to prevent the condition when it is caused due to nervousness.

Honey is also used as a remedy for this condition. Since it is easy to digest and it is assimilated quickly by the body it is used as a remedy for this condition. Mix a spoon of honey in a glass of warm water and add a few drops of lime to it. Drink this in the morning and before you go to bed at night. It will help to get rid of any flatulence and also eliminates the waste from the body. Getting rid of toxins is a great way to prevent this condition.

When you are diagnosed with this condition you must keep your diet simple. Eat foods that are easy to digest. Boiled and steamed foods are the best option. You must also avoid eating foods that are extremely spicy. Caffeine based drinks like tea, coffee and energy drinks must be eliminated from your diet. Avoid chocolates, salty treats and refined sugar based foods.

Do not eat any processed foods that have added flavor and coloring. Eat a handful of nuts and seeds daily. Make sure that you include fruits and vegetables in your diet. You must also include plenty of milk and buttermilk in your diet in order to prevent any acidic build up in your stomach.
