Remedies to Cure a Sore Throat

A sore throat is an inflammation caused n your throat that is normally accompanied by fever and a common cold. It may be a viral or bacterial infection. It is common to children between the age of 5 to 15 and in adults who have over worked their voice box.

A sore throat is an infection of the pharynx and in several cases it leads to hoarseness in the voice. It is best to avoid speaking till your throat is better to avoid prolonged discomfort. You may also experience swelling in your throat.

Causes of the infection

One of the most common causes of the infection is influenza. Other causes are measles, chicken pox, stress n your voice box and excessive screaming.

Remedies to cure the infection

-A sure way to get rid of the infection within 48 hours is to gargle your mouth with warm water and salt. The water helps to heal the infection while the salt relieves the pain that you experience.

-Another remedy is to drink hot milk with a pinch of turmeric, sugar and pepper. Drink a glassful in a single sip so that the hot milk runs through your throat. This method is known to cue the pain instantly and reduces the infection effectively.

-Cinnamon is also known for it’s curative powers against a sore throat. A spoon of the powder must be added to warm water. Mix a spoon of honey in it and drink first thing in the morning. This will help to soothe your throat.

-Mix ginger powder with a spoon oh honey to get instant relief from an aching throat. The honey helps to relieve the pain and reduce swelling in your mouth.

-Mix a handful of sage leaves to a liter of water and boil it. After it has boiled add honey and a few drops of lime to it. Drink this or gargle your mouth with it every hour to relieve your throat and reduce the infection.
