Diabetes is a metabolic ailment that is created when the pancreas do not generate sufficient insulin that could turn the sugars that are ingested inside the body into energy. There are three major types of diabetes namely Type I, Type II and gestational.
Type II diabetes is that form of diabetes when the body does not produce the required amount of insulin that is needed to convert the full amount of sugar that has been ingested inside the body into energy and whatever insulin is generated to be used properly.
Pre-diabetes is a condition where the glucose levels in the blood are much higher than normal but are not high enough to be diagnosed as Type II. It should also be noted that there are high chances of pre-diabetic individuals to have Type-II diabetes.
Regular conduction of physical exercises and required changes in diet can prevent Type II diabetes from occurring to the individuals already suffering from pre-diabetic condition.
Diet plays a vital role in the prevention as well as the curing of Type II diabetes. Change and modification of diet is the only way of curing this form of diabetes. Carbohydrates should be consumed in fewer amounts.
With the low intake of carbohydrates, the body has no other alternative but to burn the fat that is stored inside the body to get energy. With the burning of the fat, weight is lost and the individual becomes more sensitive to insulin.
Thereby the blood sugar is automatically kept under the control which helps to cure or prevent type II diabetes. High intake of fibers also helps to lower the blood sugar levels.
Foods like whole grains, cereals, oats, pulses, pastas, brown rice, beans, lentils, fruits, vegetables, nuts etc should be included in the diet on a regular basis as they contain high amount of fiber. Drink plenty of water.
At least eight glasses of water is a must for each and every individual. Consumption of large quantities of protein helps to increase the glucose level in blood even several hours after intake. Hence proteins should be consumed at a minimum level.
