October 31, 2008

Skin is considered to be the largest organ of our body. It provides the other organs of our body protection from the bacterial infection and help in temperature management of the body. As it is the outermost organ, skin is always at risk of some or the other bacterial attack and skin is more prone to diseases due to these bacterial attacks and other reason come in different forms. Scabies is one of such diseases. It is an allergic reaction due to bacterial attack.

Scientifically the bacteria causing scabies is termed as sarcoptes scabei. Red blisters are appeared on the skin during scabies. These blisters are too itchy that skin gets cut due to scratching and this makes the condition worse. The person with low immunity is at high risk of getting scabies. Scabies can be transmitted from one person to another, especially when skin contact occurs. However, the disease can also be transmitted by sharing clothes, towels, bed etc.

Though red blisters on the skin are the major symptoms of scabies, small red bumps in between the webs of fingers, armpit and other folded area are also appeared. These blisters and bumps are really very itchy and scratching makes the condition worse. In some cases crispy and scaly skin is also observed due to scabies. You should consult a doctor for the treatment of scabies. Use of skin creams for killing bacteria causing scabies is helpful. The lotion can also be used to make the skin soft and to reduce itching.

In order to get rid of scabies completely, you have to kill the bacteria causing this disease completely. The beddings, clothes and other articles of the person suffering from scabies should be washed in boiling water so that the bacteria get off completely. You should use some power to kill bacteria from your furniture.

Take care of personal hygiene and keep you home and surrounding clean so that the bacteria cannot attack you and your family. It may also attack your kids for whom the problem can be more difficult. In case one member of the family is suffering from scabies, it is always advisable that every member should get the treatment, especially the bed partner, otherwise you will not be able to kill the bacterial causing scabies completely.
