Secrets to Great Summer Hair

Summer is the time to let your hair down and have some fun in the sun. it is also the time when the sun, heat, sand from the beach and chlorine from the swimming pool cause havoc on your mane. Tying your hair in a pony tail or wearing it up causes even more damage. You need to care for damaged hair rather than just covering it up.

In order to have a healthy scalp and hair during the summer you must wash only the scalp of your hair and let the lather from your scalp fall onto your tresses. This helps to clean your hair without drying it.

Never wash your hair before you jump into the pool. The chlorine from the water dries out your hair from the roots and hence by not washing your hair the natural oils from the hair act as a protective layer. Using a healthy layer of oil on your hair before you enter the pool also helps to avoid hair damage.

If your hair begins to look dull and lifeless, then you need to blend ½ an avocado with 2 spoons of olive oil and apply it as a mask to your hair and wash it off after a few hours. This helps to keep your hair shiny and healthy.

In order to have long and healthy hair you must include a lot of protein in your diet. Since your hair is made up of a kind of protein, you must include fish, eggs and nuts in your diet to reinforce the amount of protein in your body.

Dilute half a cup of apple cider vinegar with a cup of water and pour it over your hair after a wash. This helps to keep your hair shiny and retains loss gloss.

During the summer, instead of using a wash out condition, use a leave- in conditioner to help to have long lasting protection on your hair.
