Seven Reasons To Be A Vegetarian
May 15, 2009
The people all over the world have realized that it is best to turn into a vegetarian and avoid meat and fish. We have Vegans; those who eat only those products that grow on plants and trees, the vegetarian who eat plant products and animal products like milk and eggs only and those who enjoy eating animal products. However I would quot 7 reasons why anyone should be a vegetarian or Vegan by choice.
1) The first reason is that it is easy to lose and maintain weight if you are a vegetarian. Eating a ulk of fresh, fibrous fruits and vegetables like green and salad vegetables, banana, apples, grapes, acai berry and others help to add bulk to the food with lesser calories to lose weight. Meat and animal products have more of fat content in them and less of valuable fiber.
2) The second reason for being a vegetarian is that the rich fiber content of vegetarian diet helps to detoxify the body. Detoxification helps to remove pollutants that enter our body by air, water and food which contain residue of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. On the contrary meat and animal products make a non-vegetarian prone to toxins of infected animals aggravating the overall situation.
3) The third reason is that vegetarians feel more brisk and energetic. Vegetarian diet helps maintain the stability of blood sugar throughout the day. Meat and animal products are more bulky and difficult to digest. Besides fruits and vegetables have a lot of vitamins and would be best to improve the immunity of the person.
4) The fourth reason for becoming a vegetarian or Vegan is to express our love and concern for animals nd promote a green planet with lesser global warming. A pig weighs 250 lbs and a cow weighs 100 lbs; I sure anyone with a concern for the environment would realize the amount of depletion of the fauna in the planet earth and would like to change to a vegetarian diet.
5) The fifth strong reason to become a vegetarian is having a good healthy diet at a much cheaper cost. It is also much more easy and economical to grow crops in the land allotted to animals. Besides, we have ore of plant products than animal products. This increase in demand for animal foods would further lead to an increase in food expenses.
6) The sixth reason for changing into a vegetarian diet is to bring down costs of maintaining the environment and climatic targets. Wastes of farm animals like pigs means more carbon emissions. Hence changing to a Vegan or vegetarian diet means diverting land used for livestock to carbon-absorbing forests.
7) The seventh reason which most of us consider most important in our lives is the natural protection rom heart diseases by taking a healthy vegetarian diet. Besides,a vegetarian benefits from lesser aturated fats and cholesterol as compared to eaters of animal products. This benefit contributes to a vegetarian living a longer quality life.

I believe that there are basically just two reasosn why one should be a vegetarian:
1. We were meant to be vegetarians. Human design is a veggie design!
2. If you love the earth, then go green and shun meat – environment is the most compelling reason why one must be a vegetarian. Human beings are the only ones that distort the natural ecological balance by farming animals for gracing his plate. Even carniovores do not do that!
