Severe Leg Pain – Treatment Begins at Home

Severe leg pain is a widespread and familiar complaint. It can be caused due to a number of reasons. Muscle cramp, muscle fatigue or strain, dehydration and medications are the common causes of leg pain. The leg pain can also be caused due to low back pain along with weakness of leg and foot pain. Ache in the leg can be because of the conditions that have an effect on bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, inflamed tendons, nerves, blood vessels and skin. Sometimes hairline crack on the bones is also one of the familiar reasons for the leg pain.

Water and fruits: Drinking plenty of water and consumption of enough fruit aid in the good functioning of the muscles and that in turn, helps to manage leg pain. Even before conducting any physical exercise like walking, jogging, swimming. etc. one must drink plenty of water in order to keep the body hydrated. Intake of fruits and juices of fruits helps in keeping a healthy steadiness of mind and body.

Steam baths and massage: Steam baths and massage once a week have proven to be valuable for the treating of the pain in the leg.

Walnuts: Consumption of 3-4 walnuts early in the morning in an empty stomach is an effective home cure for leg pain.

Therapies: Different therapies have been suggested by today’s physicians as valuable in curing and treating leg pain. Chiropractic therapy, physical therapy, electric muscle stimulation, massage therapy, stretching and strengthening exercises are different ways of combating leg pain.

Fenugreek powder: 1-2 teaspoons of fenugreek powder in the morning mixed with water serves as a helpful remedy for curing leg pain.

Mustard oil and camphor: Mix 10 grams of camphor to 200 grams of mustard oil. Then put the mixture in a glass bottle and keep it in the sun until the camphor dissolves. After that, massage the affected area of the leg with this mixture on a daily basis.  This is an effective home cure for leg pain.

Regular exercise and yoga: Daily performance of exercise as well as yoga is strongly recommended for the ones suffering from leg pain. Both yoga and regular exercise are effective for treating joint pains, hip pains, leg pains, etc.
