First time mums and those that have just had a baby and have no additional help are normally low on energy. Managing the baby’s need along with the domestic needs of other members of the family can be very difficult and normally leaves you with little or no energy at all. This makes you exhausted and leaves you depressed. You need not fear for I have several tips to share from my own experiences.
You need to catch up on all the rest you can get. You wonder how that is possible. Well, it’s simple. All your energy is drained out managing the baby and producing enough milk to nourish the child. In order to keep your energy levels high you must sleep when your baby sleeps. You need not feel guilty if your child sleeps at 11 am. You need to nap at that time, even if it is for a few minutes. This will help you to get refreshed.
You need to start exercising too. This needs to be your first activity of the day. You can take the baby along. It’s a good way for you to get a good supply of oxygen that will boost your energy levels and also a way to provide the baby with the needed supply of Vitamin D.
If you are low on iron then there are chances that you will fell tired and sleepy. It can also lead to loss of memory and concentration. In order to take care of this you must make sure that your body gets adequate amounts of this mineral. Talk to your doctor about iron supplements, you may have been given them all through your pregnancy and continuing to take them for another year will be beneficial to your system.
You must make sure that you have a healthy breakfast every day. This ensures that your body is energized to carry out its duties during the rest of the day.
Set a bedtime for the baby and ensure that the timing is maintained. Chances are that you fell the child needs to spend more time with the other parent and hence keep the baby up later as you await the parent’s arrival from work. This is not a positive practice. Putting the baby to sleep helps you to relax and gives you time to unwind.
