If either you or a member of your family suffers from snoring then getting a good night’s sleep is next to impossible. In some cases snoring is caused by a medical condition and in others it may be emotional disturbances that cause the person to snore.
In order to get rid of the condition you must avoid drinking alcohol at night before you go to bed. The alcohol relaxes your throat in such a manner that it puts your tongue in a position where it does not have the support and that leads to snoring.
Sleep in a position where the top part of your body is about six inches higher that the rest of your body. This helps to keep your tongue in a position where it does not slide into your throat.
Nasal sprays and strips help to open your nasal passage and this helps to prevent snoring. It also makes it easier for you to breathe.
In order to stop snoring you must avoid sleeping on your back and must sleep on your stomach or side. Do this you can try and attach an object onto your night wear so that every time you roll onto your back at night; the pain or discomfort that the object causes get you to turn back onto your side.
Milk and dairy products are also known to cause snoring. It is best to avoid drinking milk at night and avoid dairy in general. Dairy products cause mucus in your nasal passage and your throat and nose. This cause you to snore as you find it difficult to breathe at night.
If you eat a heavy meal and then lay down for the night you have an acid reflux. This is a condition where the food forms an acidic reaction in your stomach and this comes up to your nasal passage and causes you to snore. To avoid this you must eat lighter meals at night compared to the rest of the day. Avoid eating your meals late at night and eat at least 3 hours before you go to bed.
