Simple Ways to Shed Pounds and Keep Them Off
On an average we gain 2 pounds a year; imagine what that says about our weight by the time we are 60. The food that we eat adds calories to our system. The best part about this is that we can take care to avoid foods that are low in nutrition and high in calories. This can be done by reducing the amount of calories we consume daily and avoiding those foods that are high in fats. You need to reduce atleast 100 calories from your daily diet. If you are overweight then you can try and reduce upto 500 calories daily. You need not worry about starving in the process; you can cut down on 40 to 50% of the calories and the rest can be reduced by exercising. Walking for 30 minutes will help you to burn 200 calories.
A fun way to shed pounds is to play with your diet to help you to gain the energy that you need yet make sure that you are not gaining too many pounds. You need to eat a salad everyday. This can make an entire meal. The key is to avoid the salad dressing or to use low fat dressing. You must also break up the greens in the salad to fine pieces to decrease the calorie count of the food. You must avoid starving yourself as this leads to overeating during the next meal. Have smaller meals at every 2 hour intervals. This helps to keep you satiated and prevents binging. Watch the amount of coffee you drink daily. Most coffee chains add fancy ingredients to their coffee mixes; thus adding calories to the drink. Make sure that you do not indulge in these kinds of drinks too often.
When you are on your cell phone; make it a point to walk. On an average you spend about 5 hours on your cell phone every week. Walking while you talk will help you to burn a few thousand calories on a weekly basis.
If you must snack in between your meals; then the healthiest option is nuts. These are great as they are high in nutrition and are fat free snack options.
