If you have oily skin then you are likely to have a dull complexion and acne if you o not care for your skin. It is extremely essential for you to pay additional attention to your skin in order to have healthy skin that does not attract the wrong kind of attention.

You must wash your face every 4 to 5 hours with warm water and a natural face wash like sandalwood. This helps to get rid of the oily build up on your skin and eliminates pollutants and bacteria that get attracted to your skin. Using a medicated soap is not a bad idea either.

Oily skin is more prone to blackheads and whiteheads compared to other skin types. In order to prevent this you must get a facial steam once a week. You need not get special spa therapies but can get these treatments in the comfort of your home. Simply boil water in a bowl and place your head over it and cover your head and the bowl with a towel to prevent the steam from escaping. Place your face at a safe distance from the water and let the steam come onto your face. This helps to open your pores so that you can clean them. After about 10 minutes, move away from the steam and run a towel on your face starting from the outer ends and move inside. By doing this you will be removing the excess dirt and oils from your face and eliminating the black heads too.

After doing this apply a face pack to your face. Fuller’s earth is the best option for those with oily skin but fruit based face packs work equally well. This will help to close your pores. After the pack dries up wash your face with cold water and then rub a cotton ball dipped in rose water all over your face to close your pores. Do this once a week to improve the texture of your skin.

If you have oily skin you must avoid eating fried foods and foods with excess oils. Drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins from your body and keep your body well hydrated.
