2 Skin Care Tips For Those Over 40

Out of the many issues that seem to bother us when we start aging are wrinkles, age spots, pigmentation and losing the glow on our skin. As if dealing with acne as a teenager wasn’t enough! It gets even worse when you go shopping. There are so many brands, all promising to give you youthful looking skin and the same benefits as the other, and that too within two weeks. How confusing and overwhelming is that!

Try a few of these simple tips at home and remember, there’s one thing that will make it a lot easier, that is accepting the fact, that no matter what you do, your skin is not going to look like that of a teenager. You can’t fight nature. The key here is to look healthy and age gracefully.

Moisturize

Moisturize

This is something that you should do everyday. Invest in a good moisturizer; it does not have to be the most expensive product on the counter. Look for a product with estrogen or vitamin E. Use it everyday, in the morning and in the night. Try using pure almond oil on your face and neck and also under your eyes before sleeping. Almond oil is rich in vitamin E which promotes skin health and helps in the treatment of scars or any spots on your skin. Don’t forget to moisturize your body as well.

We often tend to ignore our hands and feet. Our body also needs attention; use a moisturizer immediately after your shower, as the skin best absorbs moisture when it is slightly damp. One product that works wonders for your skin is baby oil. Use it only your body when it is slightly damp, just before you step out of the shower and see the benefits from the first day itself.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen

Too much exposure to the sun dries out the skin. As skin ages, it automatically starts loosing its elasticity and starts looking all wrinkled. Avoid going out when the sun is harsh, if you absolutely need to step out, make sure to use a good sunscreen with an SPF 30 all over your body. Medicated sunscreens are a better choice as compared to the cosmetic ones. Sun damage is the skin’s worst enemy and will only speed up the process of skin aging.

Apart from these two very important skin care tips, always remove your make up before you sleep. Using a cream make up remover is advisable as it is gentle on the skin. If you don’t wear make up that often and think it is useless to invest in an expensive one, soak some soft face cotton with lots of baby oil and use this all over your face and eyes.
