If you have oily skin or if you are a novice to using makeup then you will notice that your make up begins to bleed quickly. Although you may be applying the right amounts of makeup in the right manner if your make up does not stay on your face for long then you need to change your skin care routine to ensure that it does.

It is important to prepare your skin for the make up that you are going to put on your face. A few additional steps in your skin care routine will ensure that your makeup stays longer and that even environmental conditions do not interfere with your make up.

It is important to keep your skin well hydrated in order for it to be healthy and well cared for. Start your day with a glass of warm water and a dash of honey. The water will ensure that your skin is hydrated while the anti bacterial properties of the honey will ensure that the toxins are eliminated from your body. Drink plenty of water during the day to keep your skin well hydrated and fresh.

Before you use any makeup on your face you must wash it with cold water and a mild soap or face wash. This ensures that the excess oils are washed away from your skin and that your face is ready for the make up. After you have washed your face pat it dry with a towel and then rub an ice cube all over your face to prepare it for the next steps. The ice closes all open pores and prevents oily secretion on your skin.

The first step in your make up routine must be to use a moisturizer on your skin. Use a cream or lotion that suits your skin type. If you are using makeup in the daytime then you must use a moisturizer with in built sunscreens. This helps to prevent damage to the skin. The moisturizer acts as a film between the skin and the cosmetics and therefore prevents any damage to the skin.

Once you have completed all these steps your skin is ready and you may use the makeup that you plan to use on your skin.
