Smart Food Choices to Aid Weight Loss

For most of us, exercising seems to be an unattainable goal. From not having the time to being just too lazy, exercise takes the backseat and thus in order to loose weight we need to make a few changes in our lifestyle that will help to do that. A change in what you eat will help to start the weight loss process. Also making smart choices with your lifestyle will compliment the diet that you follow.

Most of us are fans of colas and sodas. These drinks are loaded with unhealthy calories that help you to add pounds to your weight without you even being aware of it. Quitting these drinks is the best way for you to remove calories and pounds from your body. If you are unable to quit then start with the diet versions of the same drinks. They are sugar free and hence will not add as many pounds to your body; they are still unhealthy drinks nonetheless. Also, you must make sure to swap dairy products that are whole fat with skim versions of the same products.

Avoid eating fried foods. They are delicious, yet they hold no nutritious value at all. They are loaded with fats that are unhealthy. Along with adding to the fats in your body they are also responsible for blocking your arteries and leading to heart related disorders.

Start your day with a large healthy breakfast. Eggs, breakfast cereal, oats, milk, fruits and juices help to keep your energy levels high during the day and keep you away from snacking on unhealthy foods during the day. Eat a high protein, high fiber breakfast.

If you crave a piece of chocolate or desire something sweet, have some sugar free chewing gum. It serves the purpose while keeping you away from sweets and sugars.

Eat plenty of fish, tuna and chicken and turkey. These foods are low in fats and high in protein. They help to satisfy your hunger while keeping you away from other unhealthy foods. A grilled version of these foods tastes excellent and is packed with nutrients. You can also toss these meats in salads and used them in sandwiches.

Eating whole grains is an excellent way to food choice. Rice, pasta, brown rice and oatmeal make excellent meals for lunch. Dinner must be no later than 7: 30 pm and must comprise of soups and salads that are rich in fiber. This allows for easy digestion and hence reduces the amount of weight you gain in the bargain.
