When buying a pair of shoes you may choose to buy a pair that fits just right to one that is a size bigger. Never put your feet through the torture of spending the entire day in shoes that are smaller than the size of your feet. If you buy a size bigger then by shoe cups that fit onto the base of your foot. They give you a firm grip on the shoe as well as meet the right size requirement.
In terms of hygiene, never lend or borrow shoes even if it is for a few seconds. Several bacterial infections can be transferred from one person to the other in this way.
